Works Description
The Pareora pipeline is a critical component of the Timaru water supply. Section 3 spans 17.6km through the lower section of the gorge. The project included 15 road crossings, 7 bridge crossings, and the installation of air remittance valves, scour chambers, and PRVs. The pipeline passed through areas of cultural significance, requiring careful protection of pre-1900 bridges and Maori rock art.
